Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait – Egypt (ABK-Egypt) crowned its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts by launching an initiative for empowering and supporting disabled persons by the end of 2021.
The initiative – backed by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) campaign for achieving financial inclusion – coincided with celebrations of the International Day of Disabled persons which falls on December 3.
The bank offers banking services and products carefully designed to encourage financial inclusion, including opening bank accounts without any fees, issuing discount cards for free as well as individual insurance documents against accidents.
It is worth mentioning that a team of ABK-Egypt banking services visited the main HQs of the Egyptian Paralympic Committee on December 15 and held a symposium to highlight the bank’s several services and products.
At the end of the symposium, the bank distributed certificates of appreciation to 32 athletes and offered awards to them to encourage and support them to continue their efforts to be professional athletes.
The initiative goes in line with the CEB’s financial inclusion strategy which aims at reaching groups who are not dealing with banks and incentivizing them to change their mind. The CBE is also keen on buttressing social development efforts in various domains through its continued initiatives which are meant to empower women, children, youths and handicapped persons. Financial inclusion is a prerequisite for turning into digital economy which is one of the top priorities of the CBE.
