The GRI Academy – the world’s leading education portal on sustainability reporting – has launched the Spanish-language Professional Certification Program which offers training and development opportunities for individuals seeking to gain competence in the GRI Standards to report on organizational impacts.
Spanish-speaking sustainability professionals can now build and enhance their knowledge and expertise of impact reporting and obtain a globally recognized qualification, entirely in Spanish.
Comprised of four courses and a final exam, the Program can either be completed fully online or combined with trainer-facilitated learning through GRI’s network of over 100 Certified Training Partners in 57 countries.
The Spanish-language courses cover a range of topics, from the basics of sustainability reporting to business and human rights, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The courses address a tailored learning experience that blends the theory of the GRI Standards with their practical application; an in-depth overview and analysis of human rights reporting with the Standards; the business case for engaging with the SDGs, and how to integrate them into reporting; introducing the practice of sustainability reporting as well as key concepts in the Standards.
“We are excited to be able to offer in-depth learning to a growing number of sustainability professionals in Latin America and throughout the Spanish-speaking world, making it easier for them to access training to advance their careers. The roll-out of the full Professional Certification Program in Spanish – the world’s second most spoken language – is an important milestone in making the practice of sustainability reporting mainstream worldwide. We look forward to helping as many Spanish-language reporters as we can progress on their sustainability journey,” said Andrea Pradilla, Head of GRI Latin America.
“The GRI Professional Certification Program provides a perfect opportunity to learn both about sustainability and reporting. The lessons are interactive and well adjusted to the needs of companies, and the platform is user-friendly. The GRI courses broadened my professional horizons and helped me gain that competitive advantage I was looking for. I highly recommend it,” said Luis Bustamante, Sustainability Marketing Lead – LATAM at the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC).
