The Goethe Institute branches in Egypt and Algeria launched “I SAVE THE WORLD TODAY” competition for innovative ideas about protecting the environment.
Applicants – whose age will range between 18 and 25 – can join the competition until July 27.
The contest focuses on climate change, plastic-related issues, renewable energy, agriculture and wasted resources.
Director of Goethe Institute in the Egyptian coastal city of Alexandria Thekla Worch-Ambara said the competition gives a chance for youth to exchange views on protecting the environment and developing their ideas.
The judging panel will shortlist 10 projects from each country. Contenders of the shortlisted projects will be invited to attend a workshop to exchange their views and develop their ideas with the help of expertise. Then, they will have a second chance to re-present their projects to the judging panel.
In the second round of the competition, ten projects from all countries will be selected, where the winners will get financial support to put their ideas into effect.
