Forbes Magazine has opted Egypt’s Mohamed El-Brolosy – the winner of the Renowned Max Birnstiel Award – to be placed on its 30-strong list of most influential figures in the scientific and health scores in Europe under the age of 30.
Forbes chose El-Brolosy to be placed on the 30 Under 30 Europe List in Science & Healthcare 2020 in appreciation of his outstanding scientific efforts, especially with regard to the research on genetic compensation.
The Renowned Max Birnstiel Award was conferred on Brolosy in September 2019 for his Ph.D. research on genetic compensation.
More than 100 researchers from major universities worldwide were vying for the award.
El-Borolosy hailed his selection to be on the list, considering this as a motive to continue his researchers.
Minister of Higher Education and Khaled Abdel Ghaffar congratulated El-Borolosy on the occasion and the ministry’s medal was granted to him during a ceremony at the Egyptian embassy in Vienna.
El-Borolosy has authored numerous highly cited papers on the subject in journals including Nature and PLoS genetics.
He obtained the bachelor of Arts/Science from the German University in Cairo, Egypt; the Master of Arts/Science from the University of Göttingen; and the Ph.D from the Max Planck institute for Heart and Lung research of the University of Frankfurt.
