Ex-Egyptian skipper Ahmed Hassan – who also served as Petroject Club coach – joined “Himaya” or “Protection” initiative by taking part in preparing personal protection equipment packages due to be distributed among most needy people and cleanliness workers in various governorates to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
The initiative was launched by Sona3 ElKheir and CSR Egypt under the patronage of Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli to support state efforts in the face of the coronavirus and alleviate the impact of the precautionary measures on needy people, daily wage workers, widows and divorced women.
Sona3 ElKheir Foundation Board of Trustees Chairman Moustafa Zamzam welcomed the participation of public figures in the initiative, noting that Hassan has always backed Sona3 ElKheir charity activities.
“Himaya” or “Protection” initiative is a young people’s overture representing integration among private sector and civil society to buttress state efforts to confront the COVID-19 crisis.
The initiative was launched under the slogan “ For Our People” (or Ashan Ahalina). It aims to secure an EGP 500 as a monthly salary for temporary workers and daily wage workers for three months. It also seeks to extend foodstuff bags to most needy families who can be reached through depending on the database available at Sona3 ElKheir Foundation. It also aims at spreading awareness among people via e-mails and social media about the importance of supporting poor people and taking into consideration all needed health precautionary measures.
The initiative also seeks to distribute personal protective equipment, including masks and gloves, among needy people and cleanliness workers to sensitize them about the importance of adhering to health measures to confront the pandemic.
All people can share in the initiative and give hand to those affected by the social and economic fallout of COVID-19 through donation to 200200 bank account at CIB, United Bank, Banque Misr and Bank Audi or sending an SMS at 5 pounds to 9797 hotline or contacting the 15101 hotline.
