The Arab Bank copped the EMEA Finance “Middle East’s Best Corporate Social Responsibility program 2019”.
The award came in appreciation of the bank’s efforts to realize sustainable development through a clear Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy.
The EMEA Finance CSR award recognizes a single bank in the region that demonstrates a sustainable and consistent CSR program, which provides a real and quantifiable impact on the community it operates in.
EMEA Finance CEO Christopher Moore said: “For the second time, we are recognizing Arab Bank’s impressive work with our ‘Corporate Social Responsibility award’, which is one of our limited number of awards in the Middle East. Arab Bank has fully embraced its role supporting communities and there is no doubt that the bank understands how to run an impactful CSR program by having a dedicated team who oversee these activities on a full-time basis.”
Moore added: “The debate about the role of financial institutions in society is less pronounced as we head into 2020, however, Arab Bank has and for many years already understood and acted positively to impact and change lives and create sustainable platforms.”
Since 2010, the Arab Bank has been keen on issuing annual sustainability reports in line with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
“Together” is the Arab Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, which focuses on encouraging the bank’s employees, customers and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to become active members of the community through various activities. The program collaborates with several local NGOs to give employees, along with their families and friends, the opportunity to volunteer their time and share their knowledge in different activities to support the local community. The program also gives our customers the chance to be involved in the community by utilizing the bank’s service channels that are engaged in achieving sustainability development.
The Together program’s activities focus on several areas that are aligned with the community’s needs and priorities; health, poverty alleviation, environmental protection, education and orphan support. In each of those main focus areas, the bank has collaborated with experienced and reputable NGOs, and has implemented several initiatives and programs to achieve long-term and sustainable impact to better serve their beneficiaries and the community.
