Egyptian Minister of Planning Hala El Saeed was named as the Best Arab Minister and Egypt’s Benban solar park as the Best Arab infrastructure project under the Arab Government Excellence Award.
Also, Governor of Egypt’s Port Said Major General Adel Mohamed Ibrahim Al Ghadban was named the Best Arab Governor.
The award – under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai – celebrated the winners of its first edition in a virtual ceremony attended by UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Secretary General of the Arab League Ahmed Abul-Gheit and senior officials from Arab governments.
The Arab Government Excellence Award honored winners in 15 individual and institutional categories.
The winners also included the Saudi Ministry of Commerce as the Best Arab Ministry,and the optimal use of antibiotics of the Bahraini Ministry of Health as the Best Arab government Project to develop the health sector.
Two winners were honored as the Best Arab government project for community development; namely the complementary support program “Takaful”- Jordan and the home based businesses program (Khatwa)- Bahrain.
Oman’s Innovation Acceleration Program was named the Best Arab government project.
Three winners copped the award of the Best Arab government initiative; namely the customs single window for trade OfOQ- Bahrain, Furijat initiative of Saudi Arabia, and the “Mobile License” service of Jordan.
Three winners were also honored as the Best smart Arab government application; Sakani, a government app to facilitate real estate finance of Saudi Arabia, Tawasul App, a mobile version of the National Suggestion & Complaint system- Bahrain, and “Start up Your Company”of Saudi Arabia.
The youth empowerment introduced by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain was named the Best Arab government project to empower youth.
The Food and Drug Authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was honored as the Best Arab government entity.
Eng. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Mowkley, CEO of the National Water Company of Saudi Arabia, was named the Best General Manager of an Arab entity.
Ahmad Al-Manfouhi, Director General of Kuwait Municipality, was honored as the Best Municipal Manager among Arab Cities.
Colonel doctor Salah Al-Din Ibrahim Al-Tarabsha, Consultant Cardiac Surgery- Queen Alia Heart Institute Jordan was honored as the Best Arab government employee.
Two winners were named as the Best Arab government Female employee; Noha Ahmed Al-Sayed – Tech Center at Al-Muntazah district of Egypt, and Mona Muhammad Salman Mishaal- National Agricultural Research Center of Jordan.
After launching the first edition, a large number of introductory seminars were organized in the Arab countries, amounting to about 50 introductory seminars, during which 1000 employees and officials belonging to more than 100 government agencies were trained.
The award seeks to promote administrative development and spread the culture of institutional excellence, thus achieving national goals and strategies and boosting performance excellence by celebrating leading Arab achievement.
