Egyptian Minister of Education and Technical Education Dr. Reda Hegazy headed on Sunday morning to London to participation in the Education World Forum (EWF) held under the theme of “Encouraging AI understanding, building human relationships and resilience, and accelerating climate action”.
The forum – held from May 19 to 22 – is attended by about 122 ministers of education from around the world, and organized by British Council, United Kingdom; With the aim of setting priorities and developing the necessary measures to make education stronger and improve its contribution to building a better world.
EWF will focus on how the world should prioritize its policies and establish actions to take, not only for stronger, bolder, better education. It can help building a better world.
During the forum’s activities, Egyptian Minister Hegazy will participate in several sessions on how to improve education and advance development, and discuss what can be done to improve the balance of education’s response to urgent and important challenges, in addition to discussing encouraging understanding of artificial intelligence and building human interactions.
He will also attend a discussion panel on how education can contribute to addressing climate change and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as a session on how to balance vocational and academic learning to better develop students’ potential in work and life in general.
He will also attend another session on improving practices in funding allocation and planning. Effective and prioritizing, alongside a session on focusing efforts to make the greatest impact on learning at the individual, local, national and international levels.
During his participation in the forum, Hegazy is scheduled to review Egypt’s experience in developing curricula and question banks, developing technical education, caring for the gifted, availability, quality, and lifelong learning, as well as addressing issues of literacy, digital transformation in education, and the Egyptian state’s efforts to educate people of determination and integrate them into society, in addition to presenting the procedures and efforts of professional development for teachers and the mechanism for preparing young leaders.
Minister Hegazy will also meet, on the sidelines of the forum, with a number of education ministers, and the participating representatives of a number of international institutions and organizations interested in education, to discuss enhancing cooperation and exchanging experiences in this field.
The Education World Forum (EWF), held annually in London, is the largest conference for education and skills ministers in the world. The event offers insight and inspiration from leading education pioneers, policy makers and education experts, with many of the sessions given by education ministers themselves as part of an honest assessment of countries’ common issues and challenges.
EWF is supported by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), the Department for Education (DfE), the Department for Business and Trade (DBT), the British Council and the EWF industry partners.
