Egypt is the best represented country in the shortlist of the prestigious Times Higher Education Awards Arab World 2024 with 24 appearances.
The British University in Egypt (BUE), Nile University, and October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) are included in the 8-strong category of the Outstanding Contribution to Environmental Leadership.
Fatma Alzahraa Abdelsalam Elkhamisy of Helwan University, Mohamed Amin of Alamein International University, Abir Enany of Misr University for Science and Technology, and Mohamed Ismail of Egypt University of Informatics were named in the 8-strong category of the Most Innovative Teacher of the Year.
Alamein International University, Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST), and Mansoura National University are among the eight universities included the category of the Outstanding Contribution to Entrepreneurialism.
Egypt’s Ain Shams University and Galala University (GU) were under the category of the International Strategy of the Year.
Egypt’s GU and Tanta University were named under the category of the Leadership and Management Team of the Year.
Egypt’s ESLSCA University and GU were included under the Outstanding Contribution to Regional Development.
The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (Egypt) was included under the Research Project of the Year: Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.
Egypt’s Nile University and Zewail City of Science and Technology came under the category of Research Project of the Year: STEM.
The American University in Cairo (AUC), University of Hertfordshire, hosted by Global Academic Foundation (Egypt) and Port Said University are named under the Student Recruitment Campaign of the Year.
Egypt’s New Giza University came under the category of the Teaching and Learning Strategy of the Year, while Egypt’s ESLDCA University under the category of theTechnological or Digital Innovation of the Year.
More than 400 entries were received from across 15 different countries/territories for the Times Higher Education’s second annual awards for the Arab region. The winners will be announced in early December.
This year’s awards feature 12 categories, two of which are new: Most Innovative Teacher of the Year, and Outstanding Contribution to Entrepreneurialism. There are a total of 96 finalists.
“THE Awards Arab World were launched to identify and promote innovative and inspirational work taking place at higher education institutions, whatever their size, reputation or focus, and wherever they may be located across the region,” he said.
