CSR Egypt – a leading company for promoting Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sustainability – plans to invite the World Benchmarking Alliance (WBA) to attend the 10th Forum for CSR and Sustainable Development under the theme of “Together for Integrated, Advanced, Smart and Sustainable Future.”
The participation of the World Benchmarking Alliance in the forum, slated for 6th April 2020, will be remarkable as the WBA seeks to generate a movement with an aim to increase the private sector’s impact towards a sustainable future for all.
The WBA is now working to incentivize and accelerate companies’ efforts towards achieving the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The WBA has recently issued the SDG2000 List which included five Egyptian companies; namely Banque Misr, Telecom Egypt, the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company (EEHC) and the National Bank of Egypt (NBE).
The SDG2000 list identifies the 2,000 most influential companies, from Algeria to Vietnam. These are the companies that are going to shape the future as they collectively make up half of the entire global economy and are responsible for $43 Trillion in revenue.
More than 1000 heavyweight businessmen are expected to attend the 10th Forum for CSR and Sustainable Development, slated for 6th April 2020.
Governmental and civil society representatives will also take part in the event alongside experts in the fields of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sustainable development.
The forum is held in accordance with directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to get the parties concerned with sustainable development to engage in effective partnerships to realize sustainable growth in line with the Egypt Vision 2030 and, hence, secure a better future for the coming generations.
The forum offers an opportunity for exchanging views among key players in the sustainable development domain to come up with a unified vision and engage in partnerships.
The forum holds several discussion panels for the conferees to come up with solutions to key issues to help achieve the Egypt Vision 2030.
Specialized workshops will also be organized within the framework of the forum to offer a chance for exchanging expertise.
The workshops will address the concept of corporate citizenship as well as the role of media in sensitizing people to the painstaking efforts being exerted by the state to achieve sustainable development.
The workshops will also highlight the best practices in the fields of CSR and sustainable development, especially the Artificial Intelligence and its applications in the fields of agriculture, tourism and transportation.
The forum will offer an opportunity this year for tete-a-tete meetings among the parties concerned with sustainability to secure needed funds for implementing their initiatives.
The get-together will also address means of realizing development in the fields of education, health, small and medium sized enterprises and entrepreneurship.
The forum will also review mechanisms for achieving sustainable growth in various sectors and amalgamating the grey economy into the official economy.
The forum will also highlight the key role played by business institutions in supporting state plans for establishing a social protection network for the Egyptian people.
The gathering will also tackle the impact of financial inclusion, digital transformation, expansion of sustainable cities and the adoption of green economy policies in achieving the aspired sustainable development.
