Hassan Mosutafa – CEO of CSR Egypt and head of the third Forum on Strategies for Transition to Green Economy – commended the Environment Ministry for embracing the forum since its launch.
Addressing the forum’s inaugural session on Monday, he said the economic vision is no more a local one, it, however, requires joining hands in order to achieve sustainable finance and green investment.
The forum’s third edition – under the patronage of Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli – was held within the framework of buttressing state efforts to achieve sustainable development.
Hassan highlighted keenness of the premier and the ministers of planning and environment to lay down a green recovery strategy, noting that this necessitates rallying efforts of all the institutions concerned.
Moustafa said sustainable finance and green economy became the bases for developing human resources and keeping up with the development march.
He underlined the need for rallying efforts of individuals, institutions and civil society association to build a balanced and comprehensive strategy to achieve the sustainable development goals.
He stressed the importance of spreading this culture in the coming period as this would be a key factor to largely contribute to realizing development without leaving anyone behind.
Earlier in the day, Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad opened the forum which is held under the theme of “Sustainable Financing and Green Investment.
The forum aims to create opportunities and effective partnerships among the parties concerned and those interested in achieving sustainable development in the country in addition to giving a push to the shift towards green economy and circular economy in order to face future risks.
The forum represents an interactive platform for the parties concerned with green growth to discuss various issues related to realizing green recovery and accelerating sustainable economic growth efforts in various sectors.
