CIB advances 179 spots in The Banker’s Top 1000 World Bank ranking

The Commercial International Bank (CIB) advanced 179 spots in The Banker’s Top 1000 World Bank ranking for 2020, moving up from 548 ranking in 2019 to 369 due to its strong financial position as well as its commitment to innovation and Sustainable growth.

The bank ranked no 10 in Africa with its capital standing at $ 2.943 billion, according to The Banker’s ranking.

The bank occupied the second position among the top five African banks with regard to its growth rate which recorded 74.76 percent.

The Banker’s ranking depends on eight main categories to select the best banks; namely growth, operational efficiency, return on risk, soundness, profitability, asset quality, liquidity and leverage.

CIB Board Chairman Hisham Ezz el Arab said the progress realized in The Banker’s ranking was due to the strength of the CIB’s financial position and commitment to innovation and sustainable growth.

This underlines the bank’s pioneering position as one of the largest private sector banks in Egypt, he said.

He added that the bank is committed to offering the best banking products and services in line with international standards.

The bank has occupied the 28th position in Forbes Magazine ranking of the largest 100 companies in the Middle East in 2020.
