Carrefour Soft introduces toothbrush of recycled plastic with changeable head

Carrefour Soft has introduced this September an innovative design of toothbrush with an aim to reduce plastic waste in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals.

The plastic handle of the toothbrush is made of completely recycled plastic and is reusable. And thanks to the head-change system, more than 750 kg of virgin plastic can be saved annually.

Two Carrefour Soft ranges have been developed to meet different needs; a “classic” range with medium heads and a “sensitive” range with soft heads – better for sensitive gums. Only the toothbrush heads need to be changed every three months, thus reducing the amount of plastic used.

The packaging is also made of 100% recyclable cardboard, instead of the traditional plastic blister packs. Using cardboard packaging saves more than 200 kg of non-product packaging per year.

This eco-responsible product is offered for under €2. Carrefour Soft has a range of simple everyday care products with excellent value for money.

85% of people in France say that they are in favor of doing away with single-use plastic products and packaging. To cater to this trend, Carrefour Soft is adding toothbrushes with interchangeable heads to its range.

Carrefour has encouraged its customers saying that brushing teeth is something you do every day – so everyone can make a big difference by choosing a more responsible toothbrush.Thanks to the interchangeable head system, everyone can play their part in reducing plastic consumption by 64% per year.
