Canal Sugar, CSR Egypt engage in partnership under sustainability commitment
Canal Sugar has announced a three-year partnership with CSR Egypt – the first integrated platform for social responsibility and sustainable development in Egypt, the Middle East and Africa.
This falls within the framework of Canal Sugar’s dedication to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability in addition to its commitment to eco-friendly production and agricultural practices.
Canal Sugar was the primary sponsor for the 2024 Africa Grows Green Awards for the third year in a row, thus highlighting its strong dedication to supporting initiatives that contribute to environmental conservation.
It is worth mentioning that Canal Sugar clinched the top spot nationwide in the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects, thus recognizing the company’s commitment to excellence and innovative, eco-friendly initiatives.
Canal Sugar Company continues to contribute significantly to sustainable development goals.
Under its commitment to CSR, Canal Sugar has teamed up with the Egyptian Food Bank to distribute food boxes among needy families during the holy fasting month of Ramadan.
CSR Egypt seeks to spread awareness among companies and state institutions on the importance of fulfilling their social responsibilities toward the community and committing the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
CSR Egypt also aims to ensure effective and dynamic channels of communication between governmental institutions, private sector and civil society organizations to promote alignment to CSR plans and activities with the overarching national policies and strategies of the government to achieve sustainable development.
CSR Egypt organizes an annual event “Egypt CSR and Sustainable Development Forum” which aims mainly to bring together different stakeholders, including government, the private sector and civil society, in order to achieve balanced and sustainable development and enhance commitment to CSR activities.
Egypt CSR and Sustainable Development Forum also aims to localize the UN SDGs to facilitate achieving them in Egypt and the rest of Arab states through addressing community problems and bringing together CSR and sustainable development stakeholders, who pursue expanding development impact and contribute to achieve Egypt Vision 2030.
