Banque du Caire has launched a new service; namely Bokra (or “Tomorrow”) account, which is especially designed to help women manage their financial affairs via a bundle of banking solutions and privileges.
The bank’s Board Chairman and CEO, Tareq Fayed, said the “Bokra” account was launched within the framework of the bank’s efforts to meet the needs of all its clients, especially women, through offering new products or services.
The bank is seeking to empower women in line with its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy and the Sustainable Development Goals.
The new service is meant to encourage women to save money either in the long or short terms, Fayed said.
Under the new service, women would pay monthly installments via ATMs, the Qahera Cash – a mobile wallet application offered by Banque du Caire in cooperation with MasterCard for clients to easily use their mobile phones to pay bills – or any e-payment method, he said.
The installments start from 100 pounds and has no upper limit and the saving period ranges from one year to 10 years maximum. At the end of the saving period, women can get a good sum of money, he added.
The new service also allows women to get a discount visa “Meza” for free in addition to getting loans and issuing credit cards, he expounded, adding that this account also offers life insurance service.
The bank’s Deputy Board Chairman Hazem Hegazy said “Bokra” account is launched within the framework of the bank’s efforts to buttress state policies aiming to empower women at the economic level and promote the culture of financial inclusion.
The banking sector is giving top priority to women in view of her effective role as a partner in social development, he said.
He added that the bank is keen offering innovative products or services capable of vying in the banking sector in addition to catering for needs of clients, especially women, in various banking sectors.
Banque du Caire has launched internet banking services for retail clients, he said, noting that mobile phone banking service will be given the go-ahead soon in addition to adopting Quick Response(QR) Code system. This service will offer swift and safe solutions for receiving payments from a large number of mobile phone clients whose number exceeds 13 million, he explained, adding that this service will offer a great chance for boosting sales and following up transactions via e-wallets.
