Advisor of Social Solidarity Minister for Investment, Asset Management and Resources Development Hassan Moustafa said localizing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) requires effective partnerships between the government, private sector and civil society while taking into consideration environmental, social and economic sustainability dimensions.
He made the remarks during the 14th CSR & Sustainable Development Forum, currently held in the Red Sea resort city Sharm El Sheikh.
He said civil society organizations are considered a bulwark for citizens as they ensure the proper delivery of services to achieve a clear impact.
Egypt has a powerful civil society that understands well the Egyptians’ needs and is capable of meeting them, he highlighted.
Meanwhile, he expounded that the Ministry of Social Solidarity has been working on the three dimensions of sustainable development; social, economic and environmental, he said.
He noted that the Ministry has clear programs in this respect outlining the current path and plans for the next 10 years.
He added, however, that achieving sustainability requires painstaking effort vis-à-vis the three dimensions; social, economic, and environmental.
