Board Chairman of the Agricultural Bank of Egypt (ABE) Alaa Farouq directed to secure needed financing for supporting entrepreneurship in the New Valley governorate and engaging in partnership with them to promote their success.
He added that the bank is working on providing all needed potentials and facilities, including non-financial services, to improve the business environment, create jobs and improve living conditions in communities.
This falls within the framework of the bank’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) role and activating its role in promoting skills of youths and offering financing for them, especially in rural areas and border governorates.
Farouq made the remarks during a conference to which New Valley Governor Mohamed Zamalout has called for to review startups in the fields of agriculture and relevant industries.
Farouq hailed the projects reviewed during the conference, calling for backing such projects to benefit from innovative ideas and cooperating with the governorate to remove any obstacles hampering the implementation of these projects.
He said the success of these projects is the fruit of cooperation between the bank and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport to promote innovation in the agricultural sector and sustainable agriculture projects.
The bank is giving a top priority to financing micro, small and medium sized enterprises and empowering youths who want to establish their own projects that can be successful in view of meticulous studies.
He said the bank is ready to adopt emerging and SMEs in the fields of industry, agriculture and digital transformation.
Entrepreneurs present innovative ideas in the fields of agriculture and agro-industry, especially with regard to recycling palm waste to be reused as fertilizers and fodders.
The entrepreneurs also presented projects depending on digital technology in the fields of palm cultivation and e-pollination.
Within the framework of the bank’s CSR efforts, Farouq inspected the Hassan Helmy center for disabled persons in Kharga city and directed to continue supporting the center.
Within this context, Farouq and Zamalout distributed the bank’s Meeza cards among school students who presented artistic shows during the visit of the bank’s delegation in order to encourage them to save money.
