Fifteen Egyptian universities were listed on the 2025 QS World University Rankings. Cairo University came at the top of Egyptian universities on the list ranking no 350, followed by the American University in Cairo occupying the 410th position.
Ain Shams University ranked no 592, followed by Alexandria University (801-850), Future University (901-950), and Mansoura University (951-1000).
The 1001-1200 category featured Azhar, Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, and Assiut University.
The 1201-1400 category included the British University in Egypt, German University in Cairo, Helwan University, Suez Canal University, Tanta University, and Zagazig University.
This year’s QS ranking is the largest ever, featuring over 1,500 universities across 105 higher education systems. The United States is the most represented country or territory, with 197 ranked institutions, followed by the United Kingdom with 90 and mainland China with 71.
For the 13th consecutive year, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) maintains its reign at the top. Imperial College London jumps four places to take second and the University of Oxford and Harvard University are in third and fourth place respectively. The University of Cambridge rounds out the top five.
