Etisalat Egypt e& – a pioneering company in the field of communications and IT – teamed up with the Ministry of Youth and Sports to develop services at youth centers to support disabled people.

E& signed a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sports in the presence of Youth and Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhy, UAE Ambassador in Cairo Mariam Al Kaabi and Secretary General of the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination Abdullah Al Humaidan.

The partnership is meant to offer needed communication and technological solutions to help disabled people hone their skills in various parts of Egypt.

This falls within the framework of the company’s commitment to serve the community by providing up-to-date solutions and services.

A huge national project is scheduled to be implemented by e& and the Ministry of Youth and Sports to merge handicapped people into the society. This is part of the company’s social development strategy.

Minister Sobhy said cooperation with e& represents an outstanding model of merging public and private sectors, voicing hope to realize a quantum leap in various sports and youth domains.

He hoped that this partnership would incentivize more companies to support sports and youth activities in Egypt in order to achieve the goals of Egypt Vision 2030.

Meanwhile, e& CEO Hazem Metwali expressed pleasure for cooperating with the Ministry of Youth and Sports as the company backs digital transformation efforts in collaboration with various state institutions.

The company seeks promoting its role as a technological partner of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, he said, noting that e& prioritizes community service and is keen on focusing its efforts to promote social and economic aspects in line with Egypt Vision 2030 for sustainable development.

E& has implemented several social initiatives focusing on supporting people with disabilities. It has recently launched the Basira (or insight) initiative in collaboration with the “Dialogue in the Dark” and ‘Al Nour wal Amal’ Association which aimed at promoting social inclusion and spreading awareness about the life of blind people and the challenges facing them, thus contributing to serving the 10th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG10) on reducing inequalities.
