The 12th Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainable Development (12th CSR Forum) will be held in March in the Upper Egypt governorate of Luxor within the framework of directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and the serious steps taken by the Egyptian government to achieve balanced development in all parts of Egypt at economic, social and environment levels. This is meant to realize sustainability and ensure fair distribution of the fruits of development in addition to securing decent life for the current and coming generations.
The Egyptian state is keen on cooperating with all the parties concerned and international partners to accelerate the achievement of a clear development impact that contributes to Egypt Vision 2030.
The forum will be held under the theme of “institutional development, building capabilities main catalyst for applying sustainability standards” with an aim to support the ongoing state efforts to secure decent life for Egyptian citizens nationwide in addition to engaging in effective partnerships that provide all needed funds to expedite localizing the sustainable development goals and creating a competitive advantage of the Egyptian governorates so that the Egyptian economy will become more flexible and productive.
In a statement on Tuesday, Hassan Moustafa, the Chairman of the annual CSR Forum, said this year’s forum is an exceptional event that seeks to offer a scientific and practical content for all those interested in the sustainable development domain in Egypt through reviewing the state’s plans, competitive advantages of Egyptian governorates and the importance of participation in effective development initiatives.
He added that the forum also offers a professional scientific content that cope with international standards for applying the sustainability concepts.
He noted that the forum will organize a training session on GRI standards for preparing and writing sustainability reports in addition to holding an ESG training session.
The three-day forum will address several important tracks with regard to narrowing the financing gap and fair distribution of financing opportunities in view of available opportunities, number of beneficiaries and the development impact. The forum will review development projects in various parts of Egypt, the best practices, the stories of success of Egyptian and international.
The forum this year will secure a whole day for civil community to post the world on its experiences and stories of success in addition to reviewing the Egyptian civil societies’ contribution to improving the quality of Egyptian people’s lives, empowering youths and women and supporting micro enterprises.
This day goes in line with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s declaration that 2022 will be the year of the Egyptian civil society.
The forum will conclude its activities by hosting more than 20 entrepreneurs from Upper Egypt to post the attendees on their ideas and projects that cope with sustainability standards.
The forum this year is expected to be attended by more than 300 experts and figures concerned along with more than 50 companies and business institutions in addition to civil society organizations and representatives for the international community.
It is worth mentioning that the forum has realized in its previous sessions great success, implemented impactful initiatives and engaged in several effective partnerships.
The forum is keen on applying all precautionary measures and social distancing in accordance with international standards for the safety of all attendees.
